Cephalexin
a new broad spectrum antibiotic may be used in the treatment of
a wide range of bacterial infections. E.g.: urinary tract infections,
respiratory tract infections, skin infections, gastrointestinal
infections, etc.
Typical
Dosage: 10 mg. per lb., given twice daily.
Cephalexin
side effects in dogs and cats
The side effects when using cephalosporin’s, which may include
loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhea, are rare. Allergic reactions
such as itching, rash and difficulty breathing may occur. Side effects
in dogs may also include drooling, rapid breathing and excitability.
Fever and vomiting are additional side effects that may occur in
cats.
